Who Is Eligible?

Overview

Rural homeowners 62+ with income below 50% of area median (grants) or below 80% (loans)

Applicants must be at least 62 years old for grants; loans available to younger homeowners

Household income must be at or below 50 percent of Area Median Income with personal liquid assets not exceeding $15,000 ($20,000 if age 62+)

Applicant must own and occupy the home as primary residence in a USDA-eligible rural area with population under 35,000 and be a U.S
