Who Is Eligible?

Overview

Veterans with any service-connected disability needing home modifications

Age

Veterans and active service members with service-connected or non-service-connected disabilities may qualify regardless of age

Income

No specific income or homeownership requirement; applicants must own the home or have written landlord approval if renting

Veteran Status

Medically necessary home improvements and structural alterations must be prescribed by a VA physician for service-connected disabilities (up to $6,800) or certain non-service-connected disabilities (up to $2,000)

What’s Covered

Covered improvements include ramping, accessible bathroom facilities such as roll-in showers, accessible kitchen or bathroom fixtures, and driveway or entrance path modifications

Applicants must submit VA Form 10-0103 with physician prescription, itemized cost estimate, and medical justification
